The movie “A Journey Home” by Jubilee Evangelical Church and directed by Paul Soriano has been viewed by about 7,000 inmates of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) – National Capital Region. The screening had been made possible by the approval of no less than BJMP chief, Rosendo M. Dial, CESO III.

When lights were dimmed for the movie, viewers were excited that somehow they were allowed to see it. As the scenes of the movie progressed, tears were already rolling down from their eyes. Others tried to hide behind towels. The women just cried.

NPMP, who requested the jail director for the film showing to jails all over the Philippines, wrapped up the screening with forgiveness asked for and released by impromptu representatives from the inmates, family/society, government, church and education system. Jail population throughout the country is about 60,000.

“A Journey Home” topbills Toni Gonzaga, Soliman Cruz and Joem Bascon with special participation of Chacha. Jubilee Evangelical Church, film producers, plans to have its commercial screening by 2010. It is also coming up with subtitles of other languages so that it can have a much wider viewership.
